English Learners

Lakeland School System offers a high-quality English Learner (EL) program designed to support multilingual learners (MLs) in developing their English language proficiency. Eligible students receive targeted instruction from certified ESL educators in a small-group, pullout setting.

Instruction focuses on the four key language domains of English: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Our program aligns with the English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21st Century (ELPA21) standards to guide language development and academic success.

We are proud to celebrate the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of our school community, with students and families representing more than 16 countries.
