English Learners

Lakeland School System provides an excellent English as a Second Language (ESL) program to support students who are learning to use English. Students who qualify for this service receive instruction from a certified ESL teacher in a pullout setting within a small group. The focus of instruction is listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while utilizing the WIDA standards for language acquisition.
